Hatred triumphs over ethics

Sunday, June 22nd, 2014

As the Muslim Middle East burns, the Presbyterian Church (USA) takes a brave stand – against Israel.

Sunni Muslim terrorist group Boko Haram is slaughtering its way through Christian communities in Nigeria, its reputation for barbarism preceding it as it rides a wave of genocidal attacks.

Somalia’s Sunni al-Shabab Muslim terrorist group is wreaking havoc in both Somalia and neighbouring Kenya, its reputation for mindless brutality well-deserved following many significant attacks in both countries. It is viciously opposed not only to Christianity but also to Sufi Muslim traditions and seeks every opportunity to uproot all traces of Sufi Islamic practice.

A large number of Sunni Al Qaeda-inspired Muslim terrorist groups are spreading their poison across the Maghreb; North African Muslim nations such as Libya are being increasingly held to ransom as the violence enters a new phase with the use of advanced weaponry.

Lebanon is in a vice, trying desperately to maintain some semblance of normality as the Shia Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah tightens its stranglehold on this multi-ethnic nation that has seen so much sectarian strife and bloodshed over the past few decades.

Shia Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah is also operating with impunity in neighbouring Syria, whose nominal head of state, the Muslim Alawite Bashar al-Assad, has so far slaughtered about 160,000 of his own citizens while at the same time making more than 9 million Syrians, of whom 5.5 million children, either internally displaced or refugees overseas as a result of the civil war.

The other party in that Syrian civil war is the Sunni Muslim ISIL/ISIS forces (Islamic State in the Levant/Islamic State in Syria). Their brutality is legendary, they indiscriminately behead Shia Muslims and burn Christians alive in a deliberate campaign of terror aimed at driving away all those who do not conform to their strict interpretation of Islam. ISIS/ISIL have achieved immense military successes both in Syria and now also in neighbouring Iraq, about one-third of which they control.

Iraq’s Shia Muslim Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki has deliberately sidelined his country’s 35 percent Sunni minority, leading to the civil strife we see now, with the Sunni ISIS currently in control of about one-third of Iraq and much of its vital oil infrastructure.

Further to the east, neighbouring Shia Iran has genocidal nuclear weapons ambitions and is now being given a free ticket by the US and other blinkered Western nations to play a decisive role in Shia-majority Iraq to prevent its further dismemberment. Iran has always had its eyes on greater control of the Shia parts of Iraq, and world powers now handing this prize over to the mullahs in Tehran – a gift not even they would have dreamed of in their wildest imagination. But such is the fickleness of the West – and its inability to see beyond the extremely limited agenda it has set for itself.

What is that limited agenda, you ask? Well, with North Africa and large swathes of sub-Saharan Africa ablaze with fanatical Islamist terrorism, and equally fanatical Islamist terrorism setting uncontrollable sectarian fires across the Levant and reaching all the way into Iraq and Iran, the world powers have their sights set on just one tiny, utterly irrelevant but massively costly scenario. A scenario that over the past 70 years has cost the world community untold billions of dollars in “aid” which somehow ends up in overseas private bank accounts (see also here, here, here and here).

The Israeli-Palestinian Arab issue. A non-issue. Something that can be resolved tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock over a cup of coffee and a bagel if only the Palestinian Arabs reconcile themselves to having lost every war of extermination they and their overseas backers have started against the Jewish state. All it takes is for them to publicly acknowledge that they no longer have any ambition to erase Israel and eradicate every last Jew from the region. That’s all.

Instead, as Africa and the Middle East are ablaze with Islamic terrorism, the West continues to pay lip service – and massive amounts of its citizens’ hard-earned tax revenues – to Palestinian Arab expansionist ambitions. Continuing to feed the insatiable appetite of the Palestinian Arabs for our income, our resources, our goodwill, our time.

But the world can no longer afford to devote a grotesquely disproportionate portion of its limited resources to continue pandering to the Palestinian Arabs’ wanton thirst for Jewish blood, Jewish teenagers and schoolboys, Jewish families. The world now has to deal robustly with the scourge of Islamist terrorism that is spreading far and wide. One spiralling problem is the fact that many Islamists from Western countries are travelling to hotbeds of conflict to gain military experience before returning home to practise their black art on the societies that gave them shelter and nurtured them. It’s a problem that intelligence, security and police services want to address, while their political masters try desperately to avoid the issue hoping it will go away. That’s just not going to happen.

As Islamist terrorism spreads throughout already volatile parts of the world, the world community is feeling increasingly uncomfortable about devoting all its resources to the pampered, spoilt brats of the Palestinian Arab leadership. We can ill afford to continue appeasing the Palestinian Arabs every time they throw a tantrum. The world community is getting increasingly impatient with Palestinian Arabs kidnapping Jewish schoolchildren for use as blackmail in achieving what increasing numbers of people see as a distasteful goal – the release of convicted mass-murderers into mainstream society, which evidently is the highest aspiration of Palestinian Arab society.

Because the world has far, far more important issues to deal with. Real problems that threaten whole societies and nations, as opposed to the redacted and often laughably staged Pallywood scenarios that the Palestinian Arabs employ to tug at the heart-strings – and purse-strings – of a world increasingly fed up with their spoiled-brat antics.

Despite the occasional successes of some BDS campaigns, despite their despicable successes in kidnapping schoolchildren and the Palestinian Arabs’ sick preoccupation with violence and death, today they are in danger of being ignored by a world fed up with their selfishness and the massive drain on limited resources that they represent, while genuine humanitarian and strategic crises are flaring up and demanding world attention.

Only problem is, the Palestinian Arab leadership is simply too stupid to realise any of this.

The expensive joke that is the UN

Wednesday, November 27th, 2013

The UN is one of the most underrated – and expensive – comedy shows ever.

UN member state the Philippines has been devasted by a recent typhoon, with huge loss of life and the eradication of many communities and population centres.

UN member state Syria increasingly resembles an apocalyptic graveyard.

UN member state Lebanon is once again gradually imploding into sectarian violence.

UN member state Afghanistan is currently debating legislation to allow the public stoning of people accused of infidelity.

UN member state Saudi Arabia chops off the hands of thieves.

UN member state Iran hangs gays, political dissidents and criminals from construction cranes in public squares.

UN member state Egypt is subsiding into anarchy, despotism and increasingly bold attacks on its original Coptic Christian population – people who have been living  in Egypt since several centuries before Islam was even invented.

UN member state China still occupies Tibet.

UN member state Great Britain still occupies Gibraltar. And the Falkland Islands.

UN member state the US still occupies tribal lands belonging to the native peoples of North America.

UN member state Morocco still occupies West Sahara.

UN member state Thailand is dissolving as pro- and anti-government protesters engage in running battles on the streets.

UN member state North Korea still routinely threatens nuclear war against its neighbours.

UN member state Iran, yet another rogue regime, has now been given UN go-ahead to continue its nuclear programme, cosmetically somewhat curtailed.

UN member states Pakistan and India continue their uneasy nuclear standoff and engage in routine military battles.

UN member state Turkey still illegally occupies half of Cyprus. With walls, security fences and barriers to separate the island’s imported Turkish mainlanders from the ethnically cleansed Greek Cypriots who were displaced from their homes. This subject is not even mentioned at the UN, let alone debated.

And that’s before we even begin to enter into the dire straits in which many African UN member states find themselves.

But at UN headquarters, none of this matters – or even registers. Because it is not important. The UN has no time for these minor matters. What the UN has time – and money – for is to proclaim (wait for it – you’re really going to enjoy this one) …

International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

You know, the people who already enjoy more of our financial aid than all other aid recipients in the world combined. The Palestinian people, all 3 million of them, already get more than all the other 30 million refugees in the world put together. Every year. And they’ve been getting this since 1948. Without any demand for reciprocity – not even a UN demand that they stop killing Jews for sport.

For financial, diplomatic and other aid to the Palestinian Arabs, the UN has all the time, resources and money in the world.

Meanwhile, the Kurds still have no country of their own, UN member state Turkey has still not admitted its culpability in the genocide it carried out against both Armenians and Kurds, there is still no UN-sponsored international year of solidarity with the Tamil people of Sri Lanka who suffered indescribable inhumanities at the hands of the Sri Lankan government …

The UN: the most expensive joke in history.

The Arab world is aflame – but the US, EU and UN focus on Israel

Thursday, August 1st, 2013

Here’s a question: Why is it that there are no less than THREE Palestines? Three Palestines whose official policy is ethnic cleansing of Jews from their nascent territory.

Firstly there’s Palestine 1/aka Jordan, capital Amman, built on roughly 77 percent of the British Mandate area – the territory earmarked to be returned to the Jewish people as their rightful historic home. This thanks to such legally binding agreements as the Balfour Declaration, the San Remo Resolution and the UN Partition Plan for Palestine. More than 70 percent of the population of Jordan is Palestinian Arab, yet power is in the hands of the minority Hashemite ruler, King Abdullah, whose family was imported from Arabia to form an immigrant royal dynasty in the part of Palestine that was designated for Arab rule (and the exclusion of all Jews).

Then there’s Palestine 2/The Gaza Strip, capital city Gaza City. Here the extremist Islamist terror group Hamas holds sway after having removed its main political rivals – literally removed, through the simple expedient of tying their hands behind their backs and throwing them off the roofs of tall buildings. Other political opponents were hogtied and dragged behind motorcycles on public streets to send the requisite message of mutual tolerance and political diversity…  Here too Jews have been ethnically cleansed – even Jewish graves were uprooted to create an Islamically pure environment for the Sharia aspirations of the proud Hamas regime.

And finally there’s Palestine 3/Most of Judea and Samaria, the historical heartland of the Jewish people, whose modern Arab capital city is Ramallah, Jewish capital city Jerusalem. This area is ruled by the non-elected rabid anti-Semite Mahmoud Abbas. He titles himself “President of Palestine”. Meantime, the Prime Minister of Palestine 1 is Abdullah Ensour, the Prime Minister of Palestine 2 is Ismail Haniyeh, and the Prime Minister of Palestine 3 is Rami Hamdallah. As recently as 2 days ago, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, on his way to “peace talks” with Israel, reiterated his long-standing demand that the Arab state of Palestine will have no Jews in it whatsoever. It is interesting to note, by way of comparison, that about 21 percent of Israel’s population consists of Arabs, both Christian and Muslim Arabs.

But the Palestinian Arabs aren’t content with making up 21 percent of the population of the Jewish state, and they aren’t content with  having the vast majority of the physical territory – financially subsidized by the world community via the US, UN and EU. No, they also want to create Palestine 4 by taking over the Jewish state of Israel and its capital Jerusalem. And all with the political collusion and massive financial support of the UN and EU, led by the USA.

Yesterday’s CNN report revealed that the Arab world is understandably preoccupied with the bloodletting and carnage in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Libya, Iran’s fast-approaching nuclear weapons capability, the ever-clearer separation of Kurdistan from Iraq and Syria, the escalating sectarian/inter-Islamic wars being fought throughout the Middle East between Shia and Sunni Muslims, the threat of political collapse in Turkey and Jordan, so much so that the Arab street puts “Palestine” as its absolute lowest priority.

Nevertheless, the USA, EU and UN are focusing increasingly on Israel and the Palestinian Arabs because that is the only arena in which they can exert some kind of force, they can be seen to be doing something, anything. The USA, EU and UN are becoming increasingly irrelevant, increasingly impotent, everywhere else. Hence the bullying tactics – applied in an arena few Arabs care about, at the same time as the Arab world is crying out for genuine assistance to promote democracy. Meantime, of course, the USA, EU and UN are totally ignoring the onslaught of violent Islamism on Christians throughout the Middle East. A slow, inexorable ethnic cleansing of Christians in the birthplace of Christianity that is taking place to the accompaniment of excruciating silence on the part of the highly-paid bureaucrats in Washington, Brussels and New York.

And who pays the salaries of these highly-paid bureaucrats? Well, just check your monthly income-tax bill for the answer to that question.
