Hypocrisy at the highest level

Friday, August 9th, 2013

We live in interesting – and astonishingly hypocritical – times.
The US forces Israel to release 104 Islamist terrorists tried and convicted of terrorism against civilians in Israel, because their release will allow the current US government to curry favour in the Muslim world. Their release will strengthen the USA’s hand in whatever political, diplomatic, financial, industrial, commercial and other lucrative deals it has in the pipeline. It is therefore labelled a GOOD THING.
Simultaneously, the US is conducting drone strikes on suspected Islamist terrorists, most recently today in Yemen, where three suspected terrorists were killed. Note: these are not tried and convicted terrorists, as in the case of the 104 held in Israeli prisons who were duly given full legal representation at the expense of the Israeli taxpayer. No, these suspected terrorists (and countless others) were summarily executed by remote control via military drones. Without trial, without being convicted. They are people who are SUSPECTED of considering an act that may displease the US government in territories far beyond the US homeland. According to the US government their execution without trial is also a GOOD THING.
So, coercing other countries into releasing convicted terrorists serves a vital national interest if it is done at the behest of the US, depending of course on what the current US agenda may be on any particular day. And at the same time, summarily executing non-convicted terrorism suspects is also a vital US national interest, even when conducted on a continent thousands of miles away from the US homeland.
It all depends on whose personal political agenda is being served.
Blatant hypocrisy of the very worst sort. And no, this is not to be taken as criticism of domestic US politics or the Americans’ choice of President and Commander in Chief – it is simply a comment on the nauseating two-facedness of politics at the very highest level. The US administration, and the US electorate, deserve leadership with at least a semblance of principle, moral and even-handedness.

The truth about refugees in the Middle East

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

Watch this admirably short and factual film about the origins of refugees in the Middle East and the cynicism that has perpetuated a human tragedy for 63 long years.

Danny Ayalon, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Israel, explains why there still are Arab refugees from the 1948 pan-Arab onslaught against the Jewish state.

He explains why there are no Jewish refugees from that same conflict although far greater numbers Jews were expelled from their homes in the Arab world in the Islamic wave of ethnic cleansing.

Danny Ayalon explains also how it is that there are 1 million Arabs living in the Jewish state of Israel, but that Muslim Arab states such as Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, among others, are either totally judenrein or virtually so, despite having had large, flourishing communities of Jews living in the region for the past couple of millennia. Their ethnic cleansing took place just 63 years ago – accompanied by deafening silence from the UN.

Anniversary of the latest expression of racism

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Four years of international silence.

Today marks the fourth year since Islamists from one of the world’s 52 Muslim countries/territories – the Hamas regime in Gaza – invaded the world’s only Jewish country – Israel – and illegally kidnapped an Israeli teenager, Gilad Schalit.

Over these four years the FN, EU (Schalit is also a French citizen), the Red Cross and all the world’s innumerable organisations for “human rights” signally ignored the fate of Gilad Schalit. They have ignored the fact that he has been held in isolation from his family (an illegal practice), has no access to a lawyer (an illegal denial of his human rights) and is still consistently denied visits from the Red Cross (illegal flouting of his most fundamental human rights). By way of comparison, Israeli prisons hold Hamas terrorists who are convicted of mass-murder but who nonetheless enjoy regular visits by family members, lawyers and the Red Cross.

Of course the Hamas terrorists are Muslim (their religion) and Islamists (their political affiliation/international identity). The world community is accordingly extremely keen to meet their every demand. Gilad Schalit, on the other hand, is merely a Jew (his religion) and Israeli (his political affiliation/national identity). And therefore totally unimportant on two counts.

The following short film shows how the Islamic world regards Jews – they aim to “send them back to Nazi extermination camps”.

To truly understand how Islamists say one thing in English to the world community, and an entirely different thing in Arabic to their co-religionists, read Raymond Ibrahim’s article “The Two Faces of the Ground Zero Mosque” in the Middle East Forum.

The world community is not only silent on the fate of the Jew Gilad Schalit. He was kidnapped from Israel while a teenager. In Afghanistan, meanwhile, the Taliban are executing Muslim children as young as eight years old.

So what is the common denominator? That the world community doesn’t care about Jews? Or that the world community does not dare criticise anything an Islamic dictatorship does, irrespective of the level of bestiality? Or both?

It’s probably the latter. Not least the Church of Sweden is guilty of this selective blindness – in BOTH eyes. The very same Church of Sweden that remains utterly silent on the Islamists’ illegal kidnapping of teenager Gilad Schalit, is equally silent on the illegal Islamist practices of executing young children, female genital mutilation and honour killings. Yet this very same Church of Sweden has a “Foreign Minister” (believe it or not!) who nonetheless has both the time and the resources to forcefully condemn the Jewish state because Israel will not permit uncontrolled import of rockets by Hamas in Gaza. The Church of Sweden’s “Foreign Minister” is joined by the Swedish Communist Port Workers Union in mercilessly criticising the Jewish state while ignoring abhorrent practices in the Muslim world.

However, this “Foreign Minister” has neither time nor resources to condemn Egypt for its devastating treatment of the country’s Christian Coptic minority, or the Palestinian Authority for its devastating treatment of Palestinian Christians in Christianity’s birthplace, or Pakistan for its devastating treatment of Christians in Karachi, or Hamas for its devastating treatment of Christians in the Gaza Strip. It is remarkable how silent this “Foreign Minister” from the Church of Sweden is when it comes to Muslim and Islamist crimes, but leaps to the attack when it sees an opportunity to delegitimise the Jewish nation’s right to self-defence.

Meantime, the BBC and other sources report on how Jewish dancers in Germany were stoned by Muslims when they performed on stage at a cross-cultural festival.

The Church of Sweden’s “Foreign Minister” is silent on this too. Perhaps she regards Germany as part of Sweden and thus a domestic issue more suited for comment by the Church of Sweden’s Home Secretary, not a matter for comment by the “Foreign Minister”. Who knows how selective blindness can afflict the brain?
