Sweden’s communists, port workers and state radio in concerted attack on Jewish state

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Swedish dockworkers have instituted a week-long boycott on the handling of cargo to and from Israel to mark their support for terrorist organisation Hamas.

Hamas is most noted for two things: for firing more than 10,000 rockets at civilians in Israel, and for kidnapping an Israeli teenager, Gilad Schalit, four years ago and illegally holding him without meeting his fundamental human rights in the form of contact with his parents, contact with a lawyer or visits by the Red Cross. In fact, Hamas verifies that Schalit will never be allowed visits by the Red Cross. June 25 marks the fourth anniversary of the day Schalit was abducted from Israel.

Sweden’s radical left-wing Port Workers Union has no opinion on the illegality of Hamas firing 10,000 missiles at Israeli kindergartens, schools, hospitals, apartments and factories. It has no opinion on the illegality of Hamas contravening the most basic human rights of an illegally abducted Israeli youngster.

Sweden’s radical left-wing Port Workers Union does however have an opinion on Israel’s denial of free transportation rights for war materiel to Hamas. The union feels Israel has no right to blockade the import of such materials and has therefore instituted a week-long boycott of all shipping to and from Israel in order to voice its displeasure over Israel’s constraints on Hamas’s missile-firing capacity.

Like many countries around the world, Sweden is only just emerging from a global recession. The past two years of economic decline have seen thousands of jobs lost in key export industries bearing such household names as Volvo, Saab, H&M and IKEA.

Now the radical Port Workers Union is being aided in its vendetta against the Jewish state by state-employed Swedish Radio reporter Cecilia Uddén, commonly known here as “Red Cecilia”, who contacted the IKEA store in Netanya, Israel, to get the store to verify that it would not deliver furniture to Ramallah and Bethlehem.

Unsurprisingly, Swedish furniture giant IKEA will not deliver goods from Israel to the neighbouring Palestinian Authority. IKEA in Sweden will also not deliver goods to neighbouring Denmark or Norway. IKEA in Germany will not deliver to neighbouring France. And so on and so forth. It is a non-story.

Except insofar as Swedish Islamist Cecilia Uddén wishes to distort the obvious by subtly blending fact with implied claims of racism. There is a clear reason why no Israeli store will deliver goods to the Ramallah or Bethlehem in the Palestinian Authority: it’s the very same reason why no Palestinian store in Ramallah or Bethlehem will deliver goods to Israel – it’s illegal to cross the agreed separation lines. In both directions. That’s the way the Palestinian Authority wants it to be – no Israeli Jewish presence in its territory for any reason whatsoever. It’s what is known as ethnic cleansing, racist separation, apartheid. In Uddén’s mindset, however, this indicates Israeli intransigence.

Of course, there is another reason why no company in Israel will deliver goods to the PA: Israelis have taken a strange dislike to being lynched. Lynching Jews is a particular penchant of the Palestinian Arabs in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Not surprising, really, bearing in mind the culture of hatred and racism into which Palestinian society is immersed from tender childhood onward. Visit this link and watch the video evidence of how children are made to glorify “martyrdom” on TV.

Cargo between Sweden and Israel is not only about Swedish exports to Israel, it is equally about Swedish imports from the Jewish state. It will be interesting to see how the Swedish Port Workers Union explains to Swedish hospitals that they will not be getting their deliveries of Israeli dialysis machines, how they inform Sweden’s mobile phone users that every single mobile phone in this vast country is going to go off the air because of their decision to boycott the Israeli suppliers of both the hardware and the software, and of course we’re all really keen to see which businesses in Sweden’s immensely wired-up commercial and industrial economy will survive the Swedish Port Workers Union’s decision to prevent all PC and mainframe operation because both the hardware and the software were developed in Israel. Of course, all this may be irrelevant in any case following the decision to ban the shipment of Israeli anti-virus programs to Sweden, so this nation may face a media blackout sooner than expected. Which would keep Red Cecilia off the air – always something.

Civic-minded people here in Sweden are most concerned about all those people at Volvo, Saab, H&M and IKEA who are once again going to lose their jobs because 1500 communists manning Sweden’s ports have decided that Hamas needs more rockets to fire at Israeli kindergartens, schools, old-age homes, supermarkets and hairdressing salons.

And that’s before normal Swedes even begin to consider the sinister echoes of the call to boycott the Jewish state, bringing to mind Hitler’s identical pronouncement back in 1939 and the events that pronouncement sparked.

An inability to learn from history condemns one to repeat past mistakes.

Jingoism – or plain old-fashioned racism?

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

Since Egyptian President Anwar Sadat’s visit to Israel and the mutual promises of “no more war”, the two former foes are at peace and no armed conflicts have taken place between them since the signing of the peace accords.

There have been plenty of armed skirmishes on the border, however, although Israel has never been involved. Egypt’s Muslim border policemen routinely shoot Muslim black Africans in the back as they try to make their way out of Egypt into the Jewish state, desperate to escape grinding poverty, racial discrimination and internecine wars back home.

Egypt’s belligerent state policy regarding the Jewish state is no less bewildering than its belligerent state policy regarding its 3-million minority of Coptic Christians, who are being persecuted into oblivion, and its belligerent policy regarding fellow Muslims from neighbouring black African states.

It smacks of racism, pure and simple.

The state judiciary in Egypt states that Muslims may not retain their Egyptian citizenship if they marry Israelis or Jews. A prominent Egyptian lawyer fighting to exclude Egyptians from citizenship on the grounds of their spouse’s religion, Nabih El-Wahsh, says there is “no way we will have Jewish children whose father is Egyptian in Egyptian territory“. By way of comparison it should be pointed out that 20 percent of Israel’s population consists of Arabs, the vast majority of them Muslims, but also Christians, Druse, Bahai and others. There is of course little doubt about the world outcry should the Israeli media announce a corresponding sentiment among the general population, let alone official Israeli policy. The world community, it need hardly be added, has nothing to say about this overtly racist state of affairs in Egypt.

Coincidentally it is revealed that Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood is castigating the fanatical Islamist Hamas terrorist organisation because Hamas serves food that is produced by Jews. Once again Egypt is seen to be pursuing a policy of an overtly racist nature. This is a clear echo of Nazi exhortations from just a few decades ago to boycott Jewish goods and services. The world community is equally silent on this score.

Mind you, the world has other, weightier issues on its collective mind: how best to keep Hamas supplied with goods, services and weapons while resolutely refusing to push that organisation to release the young Israeli Gilad Schalit, who was kidnapped from Israel four years ago and has been held without access to his family, legal representation, the Red Cross, UN visits, EU visits, (Schalit is also a French EU citizen), in total violation of his most fundamental human rights.

Selective criticism and selective silence are very worrying trends.

Take a pause from your daily worries and enjoy the following music video. It’ll get your feet tapping and your brain working. Listen to the words and reflect on their meaning. Then contact your media and politicians and ask them some pointed questions.

The truth emerges

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Embarrassingly for Hamas, Turkey and their various overseas collaborators, the truth about the Islamist convoy against Israel is emerging, slowly but surely.

Read this eyewitness account from on board the Turkish vessel Mavi Marmara, where well-trained Islamic terrorists went on the attack against the Israeli police action well before the Israelis even boarded the vessel. See also the previous item from this blog which shows CCTV coverage from the ship’s own cameras, detailing how the terrorists placed their weapons stores in strategic locations and how the terrorists suited up in body armour and tooled up with cold and hot weapons in preparation for their attack. It is worth emphasizing: this is Turkish CCTV, not Israeli footage. Of course, the Foreign Press Association, which is a figleaf for Arab and Islamist lobbyists, is protesting Israel’s usage of the footage that proves the country’s innocence because prior permission was not sought for use of the TV images! It seems the IHH mercenaries on board are being backed by FPA mercenaries on dry land…

The terrorists were well-trained, well-equipped (including with Motorola walkie-talkies for covert communication) and extremely professional. They first shot one Israeli officer in the stomach and another in the knee, then beat a third unconscious by repeatedly battering him with a steel club, and repeatedly stabbed another two in the stomach and back. They immediately discarded all their “hot” weapons – guns – in the sea in a vain attempt to remove the evidence. Unfortunately for them there were witnesses to the presence of their guns. What is more, on board the ship the soldiers found empty shell casings of a sort not used in or by Israel.

The automatic “condemn Israel” knee-jerk cacophony is already beginning to be damped as the truth begins to emerge. No matter how often Swedish fiction writer Henning Mankell claims that the only weapon on board was his shaver and his Swedish communist collaborator friend Dror Feiler maintains there “wasn’t even a nail-file on board”.

Thankfully it is not illegal to be stupid – at least not here in Sweden. We have our democracy to thank for that. Mankell and Feiler are therefore free to continue claiming whatever they like and to continue providing entertainment for their listeners.

One example of Mankell’s most recent proof of genius: he is now “considering” banning the translation of his books into Hebrew. Now that’s really going to hurt Israel – first we have the daily rocket barrages fired by Hamas in Gaza (here is a list of Hamas missile attacks on Israel this year alone, including the four rockets fired yesterday), and now the ultimate national disaster: Henning Mankell’s books may not be available in Hebrew. This undoubtedly spells the end of the Jewish state and Zionism’s future.

Almost immediately, however, Mankell backs away from his threat. Here’s what he says to Swedish newspaper DN (translation from Swedish:

At the same time, I don’t want my decision to hurt the wrong people, so I’ll have to think about it“.

The “wrong people”? Mankell is concerned solely with not hurting his bank balance – that’s the sum total of his solidarity with Hamas when the chips are down.

Truth, maturity, ethics and principle win over stupidity. Every time.

Here’s what Hillel Neuer from UN Watch had to say about the whole sorry Ship to Gaza “humanitarian aid” con trick. In all the talk about the “humanism” of the organisers and participants in this “humanitarian” action, it must be remembered that they all flatly refused to take up the issue of Gilad Schalit with their Hamas masters in Gaza. While still a teenager, Gilad Schalit was kidnapped from Israel and has been held without even a nod to his most basic human rights - no access to his family, legal advice, Red Cross visits, UN visits, medical attention.
