The Emperor’s New Clothes Are Embarrassingly Transparent

Thursday, March 19th, 2015

Apparently Barack Obama is the President, Prime Minister and National Saviour of the Jewish state of Israel.

He is also the Global Conscience of the entire world.

In his own mind, at least.

Yesterday, March 18th 2015, it became clear that:

The administration of President Barack Obama will not accept Netanyahu’s policy reversal since his historic speech at Bar-Ilan University in 2009 and have handled his statements as driven by electioneering.”

(Reported by Ynetnews March 18, 2015)

As the above curt report makes clear, President/Prime Minister/National Saviour and Global Conscience Barack Obama does not approve of policy reversals.

Interestingly, here is what this very same Barack Obama had to say in 2008 on the subject of Iran’s nuclear weapons strategy and Israel’s capital city Jerusalem. Remember, however, that back then, in 2008, Obama was just Senator Obama, candidate for the Presidency. Today that same Obama is President.

So of course this is not policy reversal. Not at all, and here’s the explanation.

The salient point is that he had one policy as Candidate Obama, and a totally different one as President Obama. Now THAT’s consistency! So don’t go confusing that steadfast, pre-planned tactic with policy reversal, don’t go accusing him of folding in the face of dangerous demands by the sworn enemies of America’s staunch ally Israel, enemies such as the terrorists who rule in Tehran and Ramallah.

We knew, in 2002, that Iran supported terrorism. We knew Iran had an illicit nuclear program. We knew Iran posed a grave threat to Israel … We will also use all elements of American power to pressure Iran. I will do everything in my power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon“.

(Transcript of Senator Obama’s speech to AIPAC, June 4, 2008)

And:

Let me be clear. Israel’s security is sacrosanct. It is non-negotiable … (any) agreement with the Palestinian people must preserve Israel’s identity as a Jewish state, with secure, recognized and defensible borders. Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.”

(Haaretz, June 4, 2008)

Like I said, the above statements, which totally and irreversibly contradict his current positions on both Iran and Jerusalem, can in no way be misconstrued as flip-flopping or policy reversal – those are mistakes made by mere mortals, and Obama is elevated way beyond that meagre level. They are NOT policy reversals because he has consistently maintained two policies, one as Candidate Obama and a totally different, entirely incompatible, one as President Obama.

So please stop picking on the POTUS and join him in focusing your venom on elected Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, leader of Israel’s Likud party. That man Netanyahu, whose sole claim to fame is that he is an Israeli politician representing what he sees as Israeli interests, needs to be taken down a peg or two. Preferably in public, so that US Democratic voters can see just how powerful President Obama is. That power is not so much in evidence, it has to be admitted, when Obama is dealing with Iran. Or Russia. Or North Korea. Or China. Or Cuba. Or Libya. Or Iraq. Or Syria. Or Yemen. Or Pakistan. But at least when it comes to those pesky varmints in Jerusalem, in particular their elected leader Netanyahu. Incidentally, the only elected leader in the only democratic state in the entire Middle East.

And yes, there is an ever so slight element of irony in what I have written above.

Obama now needs to accept with good grace that he lost his electoral battle to head the Jewish state of Israel, and take a leaf out of Buji Herzog’s book: Herzog immediately did the honourable – and graceful and civilised and polite – thing and called Netanyahu to concede defeat and congratulate the winner.

No such phone call from Obama.

Who has been upstaged by India’s PM Modi, who immediately congratulated Netanyahu on his electoral win – in Hebrew!

Barack Obama has SUCH a lot to learn, and there’s nobody in his administration willing or brave enough to teach him. Everyone in his administration is too busy frantically ignoring an increasingly unpalatable truth:

The emperor is indeed naked and there isn’t a tailor in town courageous enough to offer him a mirror.

Read my blog, Barack Obama, and you might learn something about how the rest of the world sees you. Which is a refreshing departure from how you see yourself.

The problem, you see, with surrounding yourself with yes-men is that you only hear the same voices in your head the whole time.

Take it from me, Barack: there’s a whole lot of voices out there that also need to be listened to.

And most of them are saying it’s high time you stopped throwing your little-girl hissy-fits and started behaving like a statesman.

Such as Buji Herzog or Benjamin Netanyahu. Both of whom could teach you a thing or two about how to behave magnanimously, politely, honestly.

Basically, either of them, from two totally opposing political standpoints within Israeli politics, could still work together to hold up a mirror to you.

Believe me, you need to take a good, long, hard look in that mirror.

The Swedish Intifada in Israel

Tuesday, November 18th, 2014

This article originally appeared in my blog, The Sweden-Israel Conundrum, at the Jerusalem Post on November 17, 2014.

On October 30 Sweden decided to abrogate the agreed-upon Oslo Accords by granting “Palestine” recognition without the Palestinian regime having to fulfill a single one of its many obligations.
These legally binding obligations include:

  1. Cessation of racist indoctrination against Jews.
  2. Cessation of incitement to violence against Israel.
  3. A stop to Palestinian Arab terrorism.
  4. Recognition of the state of Israel within its agreed interim borders until a final-status agreement is reached through a negotiated settlement. The key word here is “negotiated”. Not unilateral, negotiated.

The new Left-wing Swedish government, a bunch of pitiful amateurs dabbling in statecraft and including hardened Islamists, extremists deported from Israel for violating anti-terror laws, an illegal Muslim immigrant, tax evaders, a gross violator of Sweden’s strict environmental laws (this is the Minister for the Environment!) and even one clairvoyant, decided that not one of the conditions of the Oslo Accords needed to be fulfilled by the Palestinian Arab coalition government.

The Jewish nation’s intact moral compass

Monday, July 7th, 2014

Many people are dissecting what they have chosen to term Israel’s “delusions of moral superiority” following the appalling murder of Muhammed Abu Khdeir.

The fact is that the disgust expressed by the entire Jewish people and the entire nation of Israel, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres, and the unified condemnation by the entire Israeli government of this one (1) Arab teenage boy’s disgraceful, inexcusable murder speaks volumes about the intact moral compass of the Jewish people and the Jewish state.

Equally, the delight, the public celebrations, the official Palestinian Arab government support and the joyful three-fingered salutes by young children that accompanied the kidnapping and murder of the three Israeli Jewish teenagers Gilad Shaar, Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrach – the inexcusable brutal act that preceded and directly sparked this inexcusable brutal act – speak volumes about the deranged moral compass of Palestinian Arab society.

We also have to remember that none of this started with the killing of those three Israeli schoolboys: there are countless hundreds of young Israeli Jewish victims of Palestinian Arab barbarity over the years, some as young as a few months old, all deliberately targeted simply for being Jewish. The most recent such abhorrent Arab crime targeting an Israeli, Shelley Dadon, simply because she was Jewish, took place in May 2014 and herArab killer was recently brought to justice.

There is a difference too in that no streets or public squares, no schools or computer centres, no sports arenas or soccer teams will be named in “honour” of Muhammed Abu Khdeir’s despicable murderers, whatever their ethnicity, religion, nationality or motivation. In the Jewish state as in the Jewish psyche, murder is illegal and abhorrent. No ifs, no buts, no explanations, no excuses. And definitely no cause for public celebration in the streets.

The families of the murderers will not be paid a lifetime pension (see also herehere and here) by the Israeli government. That, however, is exactly what happens with Palestinian Arab mass-murderers, whose own income and that of their families stands in direct proportion to the number of civilian Jews they succeed in killing. The incitement, the racism, the active encouragement to violence by the Palestinian Arab government and its various institutions is the source of this vile climate, and a dangerously naive world community provides the international funding that makes possible this corruption of an entire generation of Palestinian Arab children – children who are already shouldering the responsibilities of adulthood and taking with them these attitudes into positions of political, commercial and religious leadership.

So in all the perfectly understandable soul-searching following this most recent sequence of tragedies, in which Palestinian Arab society has yet again perpetrated and celebrated the kidnapping and murder of children and the consequential one-off kidnapping and murder of an Arab child in a disgustingly misguided tit-for-tat act of retaliation, keep sight of what this whole desperate situation is actually about: the insatiable penchant of the Palestinian Arabs for Jewish blood. From the 1929 massacre of Jews in Hebron to today (see also herehereherehere and here).

Therefore, enough talk about this misguided concept of “moral superiority”. The world judges the Jewish state and the Jewish people by a totally different standard – and this is a nasty, primitive racist attitude.

Of course, that racism of which the world community is guilty may actually be of a different kind altogether: people expect Jews and the Jewish state to behave in a more “civilised”, “enlightened” and “acceptable” way than the Arab neighbours that surround Israel. A kind of “they don’t know any better and they’re not capable of any better, so we might just as well get used to the Arabs’ primitive behaviour”. Well, that’s despicable racism too. Because this is 2014, and every one of us is capable of civilised behaviour. To have low expectations of an entire ethnicity, nationality or religion simply because you don’t believe they are capable of any better is genuine, died-in-the-wool racism.

And that’s unacceptable. In the terrible situation caused by Palestinian Arab racism towards Jews, we need to acknowledge Palestinian Arab racism for what it is and stop condoning the world community’s eager embrace of that racism: racism aimed at the Jewish state because it is inexcusable to hold Jews to a higher standard, and racism aimed at the Palestinian Arabs because it is equally inexcusable to hold Arabs to a lower standard.

Because ultimately it is actual behaviour each and every day that counts. This one (1) single disgraceful aberration by the killers of Muhammed Abu Khdeir stands in stark contrast to the decades-long despicable behaviour of the PA and its various illusionary “partners for peace”. The PA has deliberately and carefully crafted a violent, racist, misogynistic, anti-democratic, corrupt and genocidal society over the years – all funded by theUNEU and US.

Now, an exposé of THAT issue would be an interesting and relevant article to read.
