The invisible, non-existent threat that nobody will talk about

Sunni Muslim terrorists are battling Shia Muslim terrorists in Lebanon.
Sunni Muslim ISIL terrorists are attacking Shia Muslim terrorists in Syria.
Sunni Muslim ISIS terrorists are fighting Shia Muslim civilians in Iraq.
Sunni Muslim ISIS terrorists are threatening Kurdish Peshmerga forces.
Al Shabab Muslim terrorists have just attacked civilian Christian Kenyans.
Boko Haram Muslim terrorists recently abducted more than 200 mostly Christian girls in Nigeria, followed by a further 40 abductions. The girls’ whereabouts are still not known.
Hamas/Islamic Jihad Muslim terrorists recently kidnapped three Jewish schoolboys near Hebron – the boys’ whereabouts are still not known.
Iranian Shia Muslim forces have now invaded the eastern part of Muslim Iraq.
The Iranian Shia regime routinely hangs gays and political dissidents from cranes in public squares. The Shia Muslim Religious Police publicly flog women whose dress does not conform to the male police officers’ expectations of modesty.
The Muslim Taliban in Afghanistan are slowly, inexorably returning that desperate country back to the Middle Ages, with girls forbidden to engage in the crime of education and women banned from being seen in public.
Sunni Muslim Saudi Arabia bans women from driving, and no religion other than Islam is allowed to be practised in that country. In addition, there are roads on which non-Muslims are banned from driving. Take a moment to read that again: there are roads – stretches of black tarmac – that that are forbidden to people who are not of the Muslim faith. Saudi Arabia is a member state of the UN Human Rights Council…
In majority-Sunni Muslim Egypt, the 10 million strong Coptic Christian minority is routinely discriminated, killed, raped and beaten into subjugation.
In Bethlehem, the birthplace of Christianity and part of the territory ruled by the Sunni Muslim regime of Mahmud Abbas’s Palestinian Authority, the Christian population has dwindled from about 80 percent to 15 percent in the past couple of decades.
In the Gaza Strip, where the genocidal Sunni Muslim Hamas organisation holds power, Christians are routinely murdered and raped into submission, and when Israel left that territory even the bodies of dead Jews had to be dug up are reburied in Israel to satisfy the racist demands of the Islamist group, which refused to have its soil “polluted” by Jews, even dead ones.
As for Sunni Muslim Somalia, there’s no point in even beginning to open that subject.
The list goes on and on. I’m pretty sure there is a red thread in there somewhere, something that links all these human rights horrors together, but I can’t quite see it.
Meantime, I feel relaxed by US President Obama’s assurances that whatever dire state the world may be in, at least with the Religion of Peace, Islam, everyone lives under terms of equality and strict adherence to human rights.
It is also reassuring to know that when three Israeli Jewish schoolchildren are kidnapped by Sunni Hamas/Islamic Jihad militants, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon is clear-sighted enough to demand that the Jewish state should “exercise restraint” in its operation to safely recover the illegally abducted teenagers.
And on the interfaith dialogue front, it is good to hear that while at the Vatican for a joint prayer meeting with the Pope last week, the Muslim imam recited the traditional prayer from the Second Sura in the Koran in which Allah is implored to “grant victory over the infidel”. While the Pope – on his own home turf – sat immobile and commented neither then nor afterwards.
In all this we can at least say that what some undiscerning people in the West mistakenly term aggressive Islamism does not exist, is not a threat, and does not affect either the majority peace-loving and law-abiding Muslims or anyone else of any other faith.
And that is good to know.
Relax – Barack Obama, Catherine Ashton and Ban Ki-Moon have your backs. No worries then.
