An impartial, transparent international investigation is needed into Turkey’s guilt over the deaths of nine people and the injuries suffered by scores of others last week.
The Turkish regime planned, organised and financed the international aggression against UN member state Israel. Its aggression was aimed at breaking the blockade against the supply of rockets and other weapons to terrorist organisation Hamas in Gaza. Turkey regards Gaza as occupied. Turkey, which occupies half of Cyprus following a bloody war of aggression on the island state and which has ethnically cleansed and committed genocide against both Armenians and Kurds, has now threatened to send its naval fleet to breach the blockade of Gaza, that is to say penetrate Israel’s territorial waters.
This is a welcome step. The moment the Turkish fleet penetrates Israel’s territorial waters the Israel Defense Force will do just what its name states – use military force to defend Israel’s integrity. In parallel, Hizbollah and Hamas will doubtless open new fronts against Israel to reduce the pressure on their Islamist ally from Ankara. Syria and Iran may choose to join in, depending on whether they feel they can win militarily. The region will explode. Hussein Obama in Washington has directly created this situation through his inconsistent, pro-Islamist, anti-Israel and anti-democracy stance, a stance without even the most basic nod to strategic thinking.

While all this plays out the Turkish Kurds will declare an independent Kurdistan, Turkish Armenians will up the struggle for their independence and the previously proud Turkish state will shatter into pieces. With new Turkish elections around the corner, this national collapse will pave the way for the sort of civilised leadership that the nation deserves and indeed has previously had before Turkey was taken over by the Iran-sponsored Islamists. It should be noted that since the regime increased its support for regional violence, Turkey’s tourist industry – the country’s largest source of income – has virtually collapsed. As a result, the regime’s adventurous policies are far from popular among the vast majority of Turks.
And here’s where it gets really interesting: Turkey is a member of NATO. Each NATO member is obliged to come to the assistance of all other members in the event of war. However, such a war would be the direct, sole and documented result of Turkish aggression, so NATO involvement would be extremely unlikely.
At the same time, the USA has said that any attack on Israel will be treated as an attack on the USA. NATO’s largest member state is the USA. This would put the USA in the position of having to declare war on its ally Israel at the behest of its NATO ally Turkey following Turkey’s belligerence against the Jewish state. Not even in Hussein Obama’s less lucid moments is this a likely outcome.
And most interesting of all: Turkey is still aiming for EU membership. Ankara can kiss goodbye to those hopes for the next century. To the EU’s collective relief. Because although Political Correctness has been elevated to trans-national religion in Brussels and nobody will say so openly, there is nobody in Europe who feels that Turkish EU membership will bring anything but trouble. Not while the country is being led by a prime minister who exhibits all the classic signs of psychic imbalance allied to unfettered megalomania. Images of a stunted Austrian with a ludicrous taste in moustaches still rankle in Europe. Europe wants stability, not member nations that are itching for war.
So Turkey’s threat to send in its fleet with the next “aid convoy” will lead to massive loss of life throughout the region – but at the same time to a massive gain in the more long-term and strategic perspective, as the Islamist regime crumbles from within and is kept outside Europe for the foreseeable future.
Which means that, despite the tragic losses, almost everyone nonetheless wins: the Israelis, the Kurds, the Armenians, the moderate Turks (the vast majority of the nation’s population) and the Europeans. The only people who will lose are the Islamists.
Which is precisely why Hussein Obama is going to do everything in his power to stop this scenario from playing out.
